Founded in 1948, Prefleuri is a unique boarding school which is nestled between meadows and forests on an Alpine plateau. Please find below the message from Sylvie Ducas, headmistress of Prefleuri since 1995.
I first experienced Prefleuri as a child during a winter camp when I was only six years old.
“I first experienced Prefleuri as a child during a winter camp when I was only six years old. Prefleuri was very instrumental in my life, and I am privileged to enable many more children to be inspired to dream, to create and to develop their thirst for learning.
As a team, we believe in educating the child, not only academically but the whole child, intellectually, emotionally, physically, socially and environmentally. We stand for a principled approach to life. We sow the seeds of self-esteem, respect and creativity.
It is important to me that when a child leaves my school they are ready to move on to top secondary schools. Not just for the classroom, but also ready for the joys and challenges of life.
As a school we believe strongly in developing the child’s confidence and assured identity. To prepare the child, so they are organised, secure, resilient and life long learners. I believe an excellent education allows your child to find their place in their society. To be an integrated individual who can successfully deal with all aspects of life.
Prefleuri means “field of flowers”.
Prefleuri translated means field of flowers. At Prefleuri I believe all children are little buds full of potential. Every student’s learning journey we embark on together; encouraging, guiding, teaching and challenging each individual to enable them to blossom into strong, fair, inventive and adventurous young people.“
